Design Drawing.
Some chosen fabrics.  I'm unsure of the golden stripe for
the dress but I'm happy with the olive velvet for the
cape.
The front and back of the cape is cut.  It's a
bare canvas aching for design!
A quickly rendered design sketch to be
embroidered on the back of the cape.
Dots are punched through the design lines on the paper peacock.  The drawing is then laid
on top of the back of the cape where a chalk pencil imprints a dot through each punch.  
Then, with a washable marker, all the dots are connected so the design can be followed.  
The chalk pencil won't bleed when used in the punch outs and the washable marker can be
applied with a lighter hand afterwards.
Threads are selected for embroidery.  The
design will be meticulously machine
stitched using a variety of specialty
stitches.  These will create some depth in
the design before adding beads and
sequins.
